1. What is your opinion on the suggestion made by Reiff concerning teaching writing through contextual genre theory? Would you apply it to your classroom? Why or why not?
2. Had you realize the role that other media have in writing genre according to what is brought up by Wysocki? How would you incorporate this aspect of genre to your classroom?

ReplyDeleteI loved your question about media and the genre of writing. I think of the classroom occasion when professors choose to write notes or images on the board. I think these moments can also apply to what Wysocki is referring to when he talks about media. I say this because even in this situations students have an unconscious expectation of how diagrams and images should look. We should make students more aware of thinking visually because of the fact that these methods can also be used in composition.
