QQC Week 4

1. Belanoff discusses how the subjectivity of English is what helps it succeed, however he does note the difficulties of it. Do you think that there is a contention between a student learning from the subjectivity of different English classes and then having to reconcile with receiving a grade according to the subjective focus of the a particular English class? (e.g. Taking a class where the teacher focuses on structure and then taking another English class where the teacher focuses on organization, and instead of integrating the two, they student replaces structure for organization in order to get a good grade on their essay)

2. In Daiker's article, he talks about praising writers instead of noting all the negative things they do. Do you think that there is a point where praise can conflict pointing out the errors and vice versa (pertaining to English)?
